Hi,

I have just purchased a VMC2032 Arlo Essential XL Camera & I am trying to set up the Activity Zones.

The app on my phone shows a square/rectangular Activity Zone with 90 degree corners.

When I look on the Arlo website it shows an Activity Zone with multiple shaped corners with different angles.

How do I get my activity Zone to be an all angles shape.

Some cameras support polygon shapes, the others just do rectangles.  If you see 8 dots in the rectangle (one in each corner, and one in the center of each line) then you have polygon zones.  You just drag the dots where you want them.

Either way, you can use more than one zone to get the area you want.

Thanks for your reply Stephen.

I have the 4 dots rectangle. which is not much good when I have a 45 degree line going through 2 cameras. I will have to set up about 10 or 15 zones to get it to cover that diagonal line across the screen.

I don't recall the limit, but I don't think you'll be able to use anywhere close to that many.

FWIW, the activity zones aren't exact, and when you recharge the camera you need to readjust them because you can't get the camera in exactly the same position.  I suggest starting with fewer zones and don't attempt to match the 45 line so precisely.
