This camera connects and records, does everything it's suppose to do but when I click on the device to view live streaming, it connects within a second or so and then disconnects within two seconds. It will not stay connected to a live stream.  I can view this same camera from another PC in a different location because I am an "Added Person" to that account, and the live stream works fine through that modem-router. So I know it has to be in the other modem-router settings.

So my question is, what settings need to be set or changed for the live stream to work in the non-streaming router?

DavidDouglass,

What kind of streaming device are you using that is behaving this way? (PC, Android, iOS, etc.)

Does this behavior always occur or is it intermittent?

I am accessing the camera through the PC with Windows Home 10 Pro, on an Edge browser using a Arris SURFboard SBG7400AC2 which is brand new.  The camera was recently bought from you and connected perfectly, was installed outside about 10 feet from the router modem, oriented the camera with activity zone, and activated desktop notifications, which work fine, and I can even get a live feed when I check the WiFi signal's power, which is full power. But when I click on Devices in the menu, it shows the camera feed window on the camera but when I click the camera to activate it, it begins just fine and provides a live feed, but it only lasts two to four second and ends.

Now, this camera is at my other home, and I added myself via another email account at my other home so I can access the camera at the other home. And when I view the camera from my other home and click on the device camera is works fine, a live feed occurs perfectly.

So I have to assume that there must be a router modem setting which is not set correctly. Now I've tried to compare settings in both modems in both locations but have only found one obvious difference, which is the LAN Local  IP and the Subnet Mask and DHCP range values are different. The new system which has a problem with keeping the live feed going has 192.168.0.1 as the local IP and subnet mask of 255.255.255.203-255.255.255.253. The other properly setting values are not those values, they are different.

Both security settings are the same on both modem routers, and it seems there isn't a difference that I can find, but I am not an expert in these things. And both systems have Xfinity Internet. And the speeds for the system which doesn't not keep the live feed are 425 mbps and 12 mbps so that should be sufficient speeds for one camera. There is a cell phone also connected to the WiFi and that is it.

A subnet mask is not a range, so this sounds wrong.   But I don't think it is the cause of your issue.

I'm little confused by the locations here. It sounds like the camera is located at home 1, and livestreaming works at home 1 - but not whn using a PC at home 2.  Do I have that correct?

Also, it also sounds like you are accessing the camera using the primary account when you are in home 1, but you are using a friend account when you are in home 2.  Is that also the case?

I am also wondering if you see the same issue when you use your phone for livestreaming.

Both houses have a PC with Windows 10 Pro, using Edge Browser, and the Arlo.com website to manage Arlo cameras. In both houses the cameras work fine. Both houses have Xfinity as an internet provider. Neither home has anyone using a phone and the Arlo App.

House ONE: Recently installed an internet connection and an Arlo essential spotlight camera and use the Arlo website. Everything on the website account dashboard works fine except the Devices on the Device window, which will start a live feed when clicked but it only lasts for two to four second and stops. However, if I click Settings, then Home PC, then Devices, and select Camera One, then Connect to, and check the WiFi signal strength, a live feed connects and works fine for about thirty minutes.  So to be clear, what does not work properly is clicking on the Device on the Devices Window which shows the camera, when I do click it, it begins as it should, but then stops within two to four seconds. This house is a rental and the Arlo account is under a tenant's name and I added myself on their account as Added Person. And also desktop notification also works fine on this camera for both houses.

House TWO  is my home, which has six cameras which all work fine. As an Added Person on the account by my tenant in House ONE, I can log into that account of House ONE, and go to the Device page in the Dashboard menu bar, which shows Camera One, and I can click it and the live streams works perfectly. So to be clear, the live feed coming from House ONE works at House TWO.

Now, there is another problem at House ONE, when using the Arlo website Dashboard Device Tab. When I click the Device option in the Dashboard menu options. I see the Camera One device displayed, and when I click on it to see if a live feed will occur, (to see if the problem is still occurring) it sends me to the Sign In webpage instead of trying to start the live feed -----which has yet to work properly. So to be clear, I can't even test the live feed capability of the camera on the Device page anymore. When I click the camera, it directs me to the sign-in page for accessing the arlo.com website dashboard.

So now there is a second problem to go with the first problem, which both occur when clicking on the camera on the Device page. Now I can't check to see if what I'm attempting to do to correct the failure of a live feed, has worked because I get directed to the Arlo.com sign-in page instead of seeing the camera live feed begin and stop after two to four seconds.

Do you also have a smartphone running the app?

If you do, does that behave differently?
