VMC 2030 never connected to WiFi

I have installed about 10 wifi cameras, I have an idea what I'm doing. I tried to connect the Arlo following the instructions: but the camera never connected. please don't ask questions like: did you make sure the battery was charged? did you make sure you heard the confirming sounds? I did this a number of times. every other camera: Eufy, Zumimall, YI, and some other brand that escapes me, they all connected, and some of them are still working, and some have failed.
I am really frustrated with this Arlo, this is the most expensive camera I have bought so far, and the only one that fails to connect.

Make sure you're selecting the proper camera - there's both an Essential Wire-free as well as an Essential with spotlight.
