VMC 2030-100AUS no charge on VMA3700

My camera does not charge on the VMA3700 charger (6.6v 1A), but will charge inside on original charger Model AD2085120 (5v 1.8A).  VMA3700 is listed as outdoor charger for essential spotlight camera (1st Gen).  Why is my camera not charging using outdoor charger?

Could be a faulty charger - swap it at the store.
