Currently, I have a VMB4000 for my 5 pro 2 cameras. (7 day cloud).

I just got a VMC2030 and the 4500 base station. I have read you need a subscription for this camera. OK- got it. Questions are....Does my subscription KNOW it's only for the 2030 AND when does the service take effect? Reason is I have paid but it still does not record motion on the 2030. Does it take 24 hrs to be effective or do I need to restart everything(2 base stations) again so the system recognizes I now have the subscription? The camera itself works great but no recordings. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks for reading my post ºº.

Wow. I never knew the CVR didn't work for the Essential. Explains why I never could get recordings. I'll follow your advice. YOU are one very helpful person.

The VMC2030 comes with a 90-day trial - you should have been opted into that when you on-boarded the camera.

Go into the subscription area of the app (or my.arlo.com), and then choose "manage subscription".  If the VMB2030 is not in the subscription, it will be listed under "no plan". You can drag it into the subscription if that is the case.

Thanks for your help. I got them at an estate sale. 4 pro 2 and 1 2030, and a VMB4500 base station for $90. The subscription had run out.

I went to my subscriptions and it says I have a cvr plan. 9.99/mo. It says it is for one camera but does not specify which one. How do I designate the subscription for that camera?

The first question here is whether you want CVR.  It requires the camera to be powered with AC - not battery.  Plus it won't work with the Essential - only your the Pro 2 cameras.

Personally I'd cancel the CVR, and get a single-camera Secure subscription for the Essential.
