Solved: Arlo Essential camera failed to reconnect to wifi

While on a trip, my ISP had a glitch, and my modem/router rebooted spontaneously.  Two out of my three Arlo devices automatically reconnected to the second router/wifi connected to my modem/router.  One did not.  

To get the disconnected camera to reconnect, I used the management app for my second router to force a remote reboot.  Then, all three of my Arlo devices reconnected to it. 

 

This tip has more general applicability: past experience with failure to reconnect an Arlo camera is that if removing and reinstalling the camera does not work, then you should try a reboot of your wifi/router. 

Apparently Arlo's knowledge base does not know about this tip. 

 

Note also that if your wifi/router is set to admit only known connections, then doing a reset/reinstall of an Arlo device will give it a new identity which your wifi/router may not allow until you give permission.
