While I was not home, my camera disconnected, possibly due to the battery being very low. I charged it when I got home but it did not automatically start up again. I tried the factory reset instructions but the camera only blinked amber, so I tried to hold the sync button for the suggested 15 seconds. It blinks blue once then nothing. It will not scan the code to get it added back to my account. What else can I do to factory reset this thing and get it back up and running?

Okay, so I think it was a lack of battery power. I plugged it back in this morning and it started flashing blue so I immediately held it up to the QR Code and it chimed and connected. Problem solved. I thought it had enough charge after plugging it in all night Friday night.

Did you try holding the button longer than 15 seconds? 15 is usually enough but a few seconds more may be needed. Try at least 30 seconds.
