Do we have to pay to keep the Arlo system working

After calling the support phone number I was told I have to buy a service contract for updates in order to keep my cameras working.  Is this correct

Arlo does not charge for firmware updates.

 

You need to use the support options in the app to contact support (unfortunately you need subscription to call them).
