I’ve tried sharing my cameras/ granting access with a friend on both the appt and on a pc. I’ve reset both cameras to factory setting and tried then, still does not work. I’ve deleted and resent the invitation over 20 times still doesn’t work. My friend cannot view the cameras on his dashboard. My invitation says accepted in the app but nothing is shown on his dashboard or under his devices.

It would appear that you are still using the old user interface (UI) that uses Library to view videos. The new UI uses Feed for that. To make this work, you have to migrate your account to the new UI, matching your invitee. To do this, add the Pro 5 or security system to your account, even though you have neither. The first step is to migrate the account to the new UI after which you can just back out of the install. The new UI is much different so take some time to go through the whole thing to figure it out.
If you already have the new UI as described above, or after you migrate, your guest account should click on Home near the top of the screen and choose the bottom Home. Each user gets their own default Home location so the guest needs to select yours. I suggest renaming Home so it's obvious which one to choose.
