Hi there ,

I am looking at moving away from Outdoor Nest Cam as it’s such a poor quality camera.

I’m not familiar with Arlo so all help much appreciated.

There are so many models to the outdoor Arlo & I’ve been told it does not need plugged in either , all wireless with a battery ?

Most Arlo cameras are battery-operated. Those that require AC power are for indoor use only.

You can use arlo.com to select and compare cameras to see what you want/need as well as to compare price. The lowest cost ones are the Essentials followed by the Pro 3 and 4 and then the Ultras. SOme cameras can connect directly to your WiFi (Pro 4 and Essentials) but I tend to suggest a system that includes a SmartHub since connection problems seem much less than those connected directly to WiFi. All of these will require a subscription for cloud recordings once the 3 month trial subscription for each camera runs out.
