I have an arlo essential spotlight cam. How do I disable notifications? When I go into the app, I have tons of notifications regarding motion etc.

Notifications are set in the modes and rules. Read the FAQ here on modifying modes and rules and consider custom modes for complete control. I'd also think you need to reposition the camera to minimize the recordings/notifications which will help battery life.
