Arlo Camera offline with google wifi but online with iphone hotspot

I received an Arlo wireless camera as a gift.  I have been trying to get it to work with my google wifi.  I am able to turn on my iPhone hotspot with the same name as the google wifi and the camera will work.  As soon as I turn off the hotspot the camera stops working.  The Arlo app says the camera is offline.  Any help is appreciated.  I don't want to have to return the camera.

I don't have experience with your set up but the cam need to be constantly connected to the internet as you said you turned your hotspot off and it went offline if I read you right.
