im trying to set them up it will ding when showing the camera to my phone but will not find them when looking

Are you sure you're using the 2.4GHz band on your router? I find I don't have to force my phone to use that band but I use separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz. Mesh systems and other newer routers tend to use the same SSID for both which can complicate things. You can try going into the router settings and temporarily disable the 5GHz band or see if the phone can be set to use only 2.4.
On a different approach, you can also try resetting the camera to see if that helps.

Also, the wifi network needs to be encrypted with AES, and be set to use WPA2.
