Will the Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera require a subscription to record footage?

Newer Arlo products have been requiring a subscription to record in the cloud. Will this camera be any different? If a subscription is required to record in the cloud will a user be able to record locally without a subscription?

Also, will this camera feature HomeKit Secure Video?

Essential Spotlight Camera comes included with a 3 month free trial of Arlo Smart, a powerful Smart Analytics engine that helps you cut down on unwanted notifications, get rich info on event type (person, vehicle, package, etc.) and 30 day Cloud recording storage. Upon trial expiry, you will have to sign up for a paid plan to continue receiving the same benefits as experienced during the initial trial.
