Camera only recording people leaving

My camera seems to only video people as they are leaving not coming to my door is this normal

Try using the motion detection test while walking up to the door (it is buried in the default mode settings).

Changing the threshold might help.  One thing to keep in mind is that the camera is more sensitive to motion across the field of view than straight towards the camera.
