Essential XL Camera Live View Only Works After 11am

I recently had an Arlo Essential XL camera fitted as part of my Verisure system, but I’ve noticed that the live view only connects/works after 11am GMT and stops working around 10pm.

 

I also have to restart the camera from Arlo Secure a few times throughout the day as there is intermittent drop out to connect to live view.

 

The firmware is 1.6.0_1530_073be65

 

The connection test shows strong signal, and it detects motion. However it doesn’t log motion when live view doesn’t work, when live view does work everything gets logged.

Can you provide more detail regarding the symptoms you are experiencing? Are you trying to live stream longer than 30 minutes at one time?

Hi,

 

Nope, I’m just trying to connect to live stream randomly throughout the day or whenever I get a notification of motion.

The times I can connect, I only view for max. 20seconds and then I disconnect.

There are no other symptoms other than I feel like the camera struggles to send video or let clients connect to it.

I have had a Ring camera before in the same area and on same network, and that worked completely fine.

Is this with WIFI and mobile data?

Yes both are equally problematic. I have also port forwarded on 80, 123, and 443 as per docs and it has no difference.

 

I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t work about 3mins after restarting the camera. When the camera is freshly booted it’s quick to connect to live view, but once you leave it for a few minutes connect to live stream stops.
