Hey guys,

I have hardwired an Arlo 2k outside and on the first 5V 2A charger it hit 100% but slowly depleted until it died despite saying it was charging the whole time. I figured the wall adapter I used wasn't powerful enough so I bought a 45W GAN charger however the same thing has happened. Camera shows the charging status in app, but after 48 hours it's now at 9% and dropping. Not sure what to do, any ideas or a faulty unit?

The power available from the charger doesn't matter since it's the connected device that determines how much current can flow.

How much recordings and live viewing are you using? The spec is generally <5 minutes per day. If you have activity zones defined, you need to remove those so you get to see the true amount of recording since the servers may delete those outside the zones.

However, I suspect it's a hardware problem. Swapping at the store could be the fastest resolution.

Thanks mate, we don't have any activity zones so it just records when it sees a car or person. Which is oddly frequently for our dead end street. Due to a sports field over the road, it's not uncommon to have over 120 camera events in a day. I understand it's working hard but shouldn't it be able to sustain itself from the wall? It also randomly goes into a period of black and white footage in broad daylight, or footage that has a very pink filter over it.

I think you could be right, a replacement might be in our best interest.
