I have 5 Arlo Essential outdoor cameras and haven't had any problems with them or the app like people are taking about. Or am I just missing something.

"It depends." (TM)
ARe you a new user that uses Feed to view recordings? If so, the vast amount of complaints are from those who have migrated from the old interface to what you're using. The new interface is very different and has some limitations compared to the old one which new users never/rarely run into. The big thing is that it's a different mindset and folks struggle with that. The interface could definitely be better but for many new users it's not a problem.
In any event, if you're not having problems, keep on truckin'...
