I replaced my old camera with essential 2nd generation.
This camera was working very bad since I got it, recently there was a big activity in the room during 4 hours during the day, it didn’t make not a single recording.
I have 7 days archive in arlo app. Today I have received the message that my trial plan is over. First of all, I didn’t get any trial plans, II just replaced old cam with newer one. If new one automatically comes with some plan, I didn’t know that and I would not buy it then. I don’t need 30 days saving on cloud, I need the camera mostly for live. Today it doesn’t work for live at all (I guess because this trial is over)
Any way as i mentioned, camera worked bad since I bought it. Night vision is terrible even though I have night lamp in that room
So what should I do now? I don’t need camera with any regular payment cause I don’t need to storage the data more than a week, as it used to be since I use Arlo from 2019.
if there is no more option to have arlo cam without subscription, I want to return it. It’s useless

The trial is automatic, to get you started. After that you need a paid plan for cloud recordings. And camera newer than the Pro 2 requires a paid plan which has been true since 2018.
Any camera connected to an appropriate base or hub can record locally instead of needing a subscription (a SmartHub is suggested since the app can directly access the videos without needing to remove the drive for viewing on a computer). It's not the same presentation as with cloud recordings but some folks are using it to get around the subscription cost. I'd suggest you try it out before making further plans.
