A baby monitor on your phone, sounds like a good idea but it isn’t. Every time your baby moves or makes a noise, you will get a push notification. So, if he/she is crying, you’ll get a non-stop stream of notifications, driving you insane. There’s nothing smart about the app, so it will just keep on sending messages, non-stop! You can’t customise this, not even the alert sound. And Arlo is in no hurry to fix it.
Also, there’s a serious delay in the stream, and when you open the app it can take up to 30s before you get a live feed. During that time it shows an old screenshot, so you’ll get a heart attack when you see somebody in the baby room or an empty bed, just because the app is catching up. The camera reads temperature and air quality but that’s usually way off and causes even more notifications. Great 😞
Has Arlo given up on ever improving this device? I have noticed zero improvements with each iOS app update.
In the mean time, do yourself a favour and buy a dedicated baby monitor.

Er,
RTFM? Its easy to turn off the motion notifications, in fact all of the notifications. For me it takes a couple of seconds to get a live stream.
