It's been awhile since I plugged these in, so much that the "Arlo secure" is new to me. So, not sure if these are just bricked.
I am trying to set up 2 of my old Arlo Baby cams and on both, I can't get passed the "searching for your device" screen (with the radar animation). To set them up, it instructs me to push the sync button, and have the camera scan the QR code. This all works. Then it shows a screen for Wi-Fi password. Then it shows the radar animation and says it's looking for the camera. It just stays on this forever.
Do you need to have a subscription now? Is that what's wrong?
Thank you!

Even without a subscription you still be able to onboard your cameras.
Make sure that you are entering the SSID and wifi password correctly.
You could also try factory resetting the cameras and starting again.

I had the same issue.
The only workaround I've found is to connect to a 2.4GHz network (not 5GHz) and use the Apple Home app on an iphone to connect to it.
