We have 2 Arlo Baby monitors and they constantly need you to press play on iPad or iPhone. Firmware does not have update. It occurs with different devices and different OS. I need to fix this as I’m about to go back to old audio only monitors.

If you are streaming Local on the Baby ( small house icon IIRC ) then the baby would stay on...

also check the time out on the phone / display unit
