Arlo Baby Camera - Network latency

Why does there seem to be such high latency from the Arlo Baby Cam? My Wifi router is about 12 feet away and the signal strength, according to the Arlo UI, is excellent. Via my router page, I can verify that the camera is connected on the 5ghz band at full signal as well.
The latency seems really bouncy from the camera. Video seems fine when I'm viewing it via the app but I'm just wondering why there's so much latency from camera's connection to the network?
--- arlo-babycam ping statistics --- 51 packets transmitted, 51 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 2.422/36.114/129.392/29.980 ms
For comparison, my RaspberryPI on the network:
--- raspberrypi ping statistics --- 52 packets transmitted, 52 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.155/2.101/3.475/0.497 ms

If you're not experiencing any issues live streaming, I don't imagine this is causing much harm. I'll see what I can find out about this and post an update.

There are times when there are some artifacts in the video but overall, it looks fine. I suspect that the video artifacts are due to the latency issues and this is why I opened this issue. The device shouldn't be having these latency spikes at all. I tried to determine if maybe the load on the camera was causing increased latency but after turning off monitoring I saw no improvement either.
