Does the camera of choice somehow get linked to the Arlo Audio Doorbell to record?

I already have several pro 2 cameras. I want to add the doorbell. I understand that the doorbell is not a camera but works with an existing or added camera.. My question is does the camera of choice somehow get linked to the doorbell. So it will become active and start recording when motion is detected? All my cameras now are on a schedule. the schedule is then same for all cameras, they have the same base station. The doorbell camera will need to be on 24/7.

When you install the doorbell, there are settings for the doorbell that allow you to pair a camera so the doorbell triggers that camera.
