Arlo Doorbell playing the doorbell and call

Does the Arlo Doorbell is designed to play the pre-existing door bell and also call your phone?

I was able to connect the wires to my existing door bell, and it worked, but when I added the Arlo Doorbell to the station I only get the phone call if I press the buttom. My setting is in #2 position on the back of the Arlo Doorbell. Anything I should verify?

That's correct operation. Think of the call as a remote chime. It only occurs when the doorbell is pressed. You can use the motion detection of the doorbell to trigger a camera if you want/need, with the notifications that come with thaat setup.
