This is a replacement doorbell from my existing doorbell and chimes which used long ago.
I just installed my Arlo doorbell with Arlo Chime and base station, which they work perfect when Arlo doorbell is in battery mode.
However when I connect with the existing transformer 18V 500mA (9W), it doesn't lights up. The installation guide shows that it can be operated at voltage between 8 and 24V. So I'm not sure where goes wrong. (The transformer is tested and is working)

where it tells you that the doorbell runs on battery power. You can use rechargeable batteries but you will need to remove them to recharge them.

Make sure that you leave the batteries in place, it needs them to operate even when connected to the existing power.

Hi Master, do you mean I need to put rechargable battery into the doorbell? It doesn't make sense if I put the standard alkaline battery to keep it running (so it drains the power from battery instead of AC power).
If put a rechargable battery, just normal 1800-2100 mAH should be fine right?
