Have two VMC3030 model cameras that I want to start using again, but have lost the home base. Can I buy just the smarthub anywhere and does it have to be a certain model to work with those cameras?

Any currently sold hubs will work with those cameras. Be aware that the cameras have been declared end-of-life so you may want to consider new cameras. The old cameras will still have the free 7 day plan but any new ones will require a subscription once the trial sub expires for cloud recordings.
