Have the wire/wireless doorbell. Been using batteries on it. Tend to last about 5days. Bought a 24v 500ma transformer. Searching said it will work for making it wired. The v shows 16-24v. Ok testing the transformer I bought reads 25.5v. Will that be too much??

Once connected, the voltage likely will drop a bit due to the load supplied by the doorbell. Regardless, I doubt the tiny over-voltage would make any difference.

However, first I would verify how many recordings the doorbell is actually doing. If you use activity zones, disable them for testing so you get a true count. The spec is generally for <5 minutes per day of recording (and live viewing) so add up the recordings per day to see what you find. You may need to reduce motion sensitivity to a lower number while still getting the detections you need - testing will be required to find the right setting.
