On my MacBook Air I cannot play a saved video without downloading it.  Message comes up that says "This video is not able to play in your browser.  Please download to view."

Why is this happening?  What do I need to do to view saved video without downloading it?

The Ultra and Pro3/Pro4 cameras use H.264 (also called AVC) for 1080p, but use a newer more efficient codec called H.265 (HEVC) for 2K and 4K.  Unfortunately most browsers don't support H.265 video.

There is a kb article on this here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062189/Which-devices-are-supported-for-HEVC-4K-or-2K-playback.  That links to https://caniuse.com/hevc  for web browsers.

FWIW, there is at least one mistake on the caniuse site.  The current version of Edge will work if you have both a PC with hardware support for H.265 and the HEVC extension download from Microsoft.  But of course that doesn't apply to your MacBook Air.
