All IFTT rules I have been using stopped working a few days ago. The app says the problem lays with Arlo. Arlo moderator, we ask you to research this and post back here with a technical level reason for the failure on Arlo's part and then post when NG intends to fix it.

While you can ask the moderator to escalate, the real answer is opening a case yourself with support.  The more folks that do so can raise awareness and lead to a fix.  A forum request is tenuous at best.

I'm not gonna waste time doing THEIR work calling them being placed on wait hold, then talking to some dummy reading from a script. I expect NG's agents (in this case the moderator) to relay the message. I post here a few time. When no response, I post it to the local BBB to put the hammer down on NG.

There are multiple methods of contact - phone is only one.

Threats won't get you anyplace.  Will a message from you get tranferred to engineering somehow?  Maybe but I wouldn't bet my life on it. The process is put into place for a reason - any IT solution will do the same.  User forums only go so far - if you aren't willing to do what's needed to get an issue resolved, there's nothing much anyone can do for you.  You're just shooting yourself in the foot.

@jguerdat,

I agree the more of us that contact support will raise awareness about this issue and hopefully lead to a possible fix.  My case is 29046105.

IFTTT applet failed - If Arlo detects motion, then turn on Wemo Mini.

Trigger failure message: “There was a problem with the Arlo service.”

This applet was working successfully until it failed on 9/21/2017 and still does not work. The camera works properly and records activity events (library) with push notifications to my phone, but for some reason Arlo services fails to implement the IFTTT procedure.

The online chat representative had me delete the applet and recreate it, but of course it did not resolve anything.

@JamesC

I am respectfully asking that a forum moderator escalate my case (29046105) because the representative said this issue was already fix but when I asked him follow-up questions, he stopped responding.  We were not disconnected. I had to end the chat session because of his non-response.  Just want to make sure my case gets to the right tech team who can help me resolve this problem.  Thank you.

I have the Arlo Pro 4-camera system.

I will escalate this topic and post an update when I have more information.

I was able to replicate the error message received when attempting to use the IFTTT recipe being discussed.

Is anyone here experiencing issues with any other IFTTT recipes?

I have same issue when trying to run IFTTT applet with my wemo light switches.

Hello,

Since a few days, i have experiencing the same issues with other IFTTT recipes :

- If arlo detects motion, then turn on D-link smartplug => applet failed

- If arlo detect motion, then play D-link Siren => applet failed

However, the recipes "Arlo Off" or "Arlo On" through DoButton works great.

I use some Wemo plugs and find that the Belkin Wemo software application updates and sometimes breaks other applications functions connected to it.

jger...I don't have time to make calls to some person reading from a script. When I paid my $500 to buy the kit and installed it, I feel my work is done. As a customer I'm not here to do NG's troubleshooting. Maybe people like have more time to spare and/or have a different philosophy. I get solutions from a different and I beleive more effective vector. For each post highlighting a problem means some (but not all of course) potential customer jumps on the fence and pospones that buy decision. Economically, NG should be incentivized to do something about it. Equally important, I communicate the problem in a manner which is most efficient for me which is to post it on this forum.

That's why other methods are available, such as chat and email. However, if you're not going to use any of them, there's nothing here in a user forum that can be done to help. Guess it's time to cut bait.

From a service standpoint it should be down say for an hour if there is a problem not more than a week. Moderator please accelerate this. Frankly, why are users reporting the outage before NG realizes it internally?

Same problem with me.

IFTTT reports "Applet failed", "There was a problem with the Arlo service.", "No details available.

Problems since mid of Sept 2017.

Recreating the recipes doesn't help.

Any solution?

1. If your utility company took this long to restore water and power, they would be fined by the government and mangement could be imprisoned for neglect and direlection of duty.

2. If your cable TV or phone company regardless of landline or wireless took this long to restore service, they would be out of business.

3. Would Cisco in enterprise networking ignore an outage or take this long to respond to their customers?

This make me wonder if I made a bad decision when I purchased ARLO. This is really a security issue.

On point 1......

While I understand your frustration, what you stated isn't really factual. I work in IT. I'm an engineer. I work for a major international utility company. The only time a utility company could get fined because of an outage(in the USA), is if it was a NERC-CIP related event.

I don't use IFTTT because there are much better and reliable ways of automatiing home products, but I'm curious....... everyone is yelling at netgear here, but has IFTTT acknowledge the issue or updated it's customers yet? Has anyone contacted IFTTT support?
