Why can’t the Arlo 3 do continuous recording via a solar panel for power?

NAMM,

The Arlo Solar Panel provides a slow trickle charge. Continuous Video Recording (CVR) consumes too much power for the Solar Panel to keep up.

For more information on this, take a look here: How does the Arlo Solar Panel work?

So can you design better software that would not drain the batteries? Having the solar panels is a waste of money. I bought the arlo system cause it seemed as I could go 100% and still record 100% of the time. Now all I get is little snips of video when a leaf blows by. I wish I could return the whole $600 system.

@NAMM  You can use CVR with when plugged into AC power. The solar panel is just a charger as JamesC said.

Yes I have heard that. But why have to run power to a wireless camera? If I wanted a wired camera I would have chose a different camera.

For other options you can run wireless just not CVR. The battery would die in a day.

Yes that’s what I’m doing now. But sometimes the little recordings I’m getting is not enough recording.
