Do I need a base station

Hello, I am new to arlo and I just purchased essential cameras and door bell. They are all wireless. Do I need to purchase a base unit as well, or can these all be operated without?

They will operate without a base unit and record to the cloud .... A subscription will be required.

 

The only thing you don't get is local recording ( backup recordings on a mem card ) as this requires a base unit.
