I am a new Arlo customer. I cannot get the motion detection to work. We just tried the motion detection test (looking for the LED on front). I set sensitivity to 100%, but got no response. We have brought camera in wihtin 10 feet of base station. Thoughts?

I had a similar problem, i have had my system for about a week.I also was not able to get the LEDs to trigger at first...
In the Arlo setup check under "rules" and make sure the settings for each camera has a high number for motion detection (i think the defaults are quite high but its a good idea to check)
Also make sure under "modes" you have "all motion on" and disable the scheduler - the default seems to be all motion off for some reason....
that did it for me
Also, the way the motion detection LED seems to work might be tied into the recording length defined under "rules", i think it blinks once and then starts recording video and will nto blink again until the recoding has completed, which emans if you miss the intial "blink" of the LED you will be dancing around like an idiot in front of the camera tring to trigger the LED while its still recording. It will blink quickly again once its stopped recording... I cannto be sure, I actually gave up on the LED thing once i got the motion detection working and I trimmed the sensistivity based on when a recording triggers.
Its interesting that when I set the motion sensitivity to 1% under rules - it still easily picks up motion, its still quite sensitite at 1%... which si annoying as i would like to use this setting to stop a specific camera recording. The only way (for me) to stop it recording is to set "all motion off" for all cameras...
good luck !

Good afternoon Keith,
I am checking in with you to see if you are still experiencing issues with motion detection. Please see a few things to check in an effort to isolate the issue.
1. Be sure to validate your registered email to begin receiving email alerts
- Log into your Arlo account
- Go to Settings
- Go to Personal Info
- if the email address has not yet been confirmed it will prompt you to resend email confirmation.
- Once resent please access your email account used to register the Arlo system and click "here" to confirm and activate this email to receive email alerts.
2. Be sure that the specific mode being used to detect motion has green check marks next to the cameras you want to detect motion.
- Log into your Arlo account
- Go to Settings
- Click Modes
- Click All Motion On mode
- Ensure all available cameras have a green check mark next to them.
- Click Save
If none of these steps resolve the issue please let us know so we can investigate this issue further.
Best Regards,
Christine
