I've mounted outside an Arlo Q inverted. Set the activity zone, and then inverted the image. All looks good, but I seem to get every car passing by tripping the recording. Activity zone is pretty much small and in the middle of the screen, so I don't think invertion is an issue in any case. There is a window nearby, but this is happening at all hours with or without the sun/IR sensor. I've reset the activity zone 3 times. Ideas?

You set the zone in the wrong order. Invert the camera setting and then set up the zone(s). Maybe a screenshot of your view when setting up the zones would be useful.

I believe you are doing it right. Due to the invert bug on activity zones you need to set them prior to inverting. Have you setup the rules to use the zones? Under "Motion Settings" you need to pick the activity zones that you want to use. They are not automatically selected.

Thanks for help. I dont see 'motion settings' or where to set up rules. I've just got the green square pretty much in the center. There is more to do? I think I've clicked everywhere...got some great racoon family shots, but every car that crosses the farthest corner of my view as well...

Using the browser (although the apps are similar), go to the "Mode" tab, click on the green square with the pencil to edit whichever mode you are using. Once in this menu, you will see "Rules". Click on "Edit" to edit the one you are using (there is only one for Q cameras). Once again, click on the green square with the pencil to edit the "Motion is detected" setting. This is where you pick the activity zones.

still doesn't work. Now I've moved on to zooming so there is just less for the camera to see (not really helpful for my need, but looking to figure out what works and doesn't) This didn't do anything either. I actually probably have more saved files now. About 1 every 6 minutes. It might be picking up leaves moving at this point.

Maybe a screenshot of your zones would help.
