achoi2,

When you are testing motion detection and not getting e-mail alerts, are you seeing the running man on the camera turn amber to indicate motion is being detected? Does content arrive in the library afterwards? If not, be sure your camera is set to the correct mode for motion detection to be active. If you have the correct mode set, you should see an amber running man when motion is being detected.

If you're still having issues getting e-mail alerts, check your rules to make sure e-mail alerts are enabled. Log in to your Arlo account and navigate to, Mode > select your base station > click the pencil icon next to your active mode > click edit on the desired rule > toggle e-mail alerts.

It is also possible that your e-mail provider is blocking alert e-mails from Arlo. Check your spam folder. You can further isolate if this is the issue by adding an alternate e-mail address to your camera rules and see if that camera get's e-mail alerts.

Please let us know,

dear james

morning

i had done everything and check everything u mentioned below

however i did received a alert from time to time this morning

what i am trying to say was - i dont want to receive an email alert from time to time
but right away (whenever there's someone/something pass the camera) - Right?!

that's why i am doing the testing in and out couple of times and make sure it works all the time
(not whenever the camera feels like it - right?! )
i even walking out and standind in front the camera and "wave" and see if i will receive an alert

thata's why i am confused - still receive an alert, but not when i am thinking i am "suppose" to receive
if u know what i am talking about

i will try it again couple more times and will let u know
worst case, give up and refund!!! 🙂

thanks
anthony

Live chat is there for me at this moment - maybe it's related to a specific time (haven't used it so have no experience) or to the issue with the email submission?  Is it still happening?

Its a good camera but definitely a good motion detector at all

i have this camera inside (above the door) facing to driveway

when I parked the car and walk towards my door

even into the house - no email sent to me

walking out the door to have a walk after dinner

no email sent

what I am trying to say was - don't want the hassle and keep writing the complaint to this column

i am giving up

will refund tomorrow

Your choice, obviously, but motion detection by a PIR detector works best when across the FOC, not at it. Also, it easy to include too much scene in the view when limiting the view to only the specific area of interest eliminates many issues.

what are u talking about?

fucntion of motion detective is to detect something if something is at the area

if not working, what's the point to have the function

i only adjust to my front door area and if it's not working at all

then and hopefully Arlo will need to work on this issue

otherwise there will be more and more REFUND

imagine u put the Arlo inside the house and someone broke in to the

ground floor and y were upstairs -

guess what? no email sent to you

then what;s the point to have it

it's around $200, not $20

this morning me and my wife goto work and we look and wave at the camera from outside

and guess what?

no email sent - i checked my devide - motion detective is on

well, i guess and hopefully it's only me that got the "lemon"

achoi2,

Jguerdat is trying to convey that it may be the positioning of your camera that is causing the issue. Due to the way the camera detects motion, it can sometimes take a little trial and error to find the best location for your cameras. For best performance take a look at this article providing tips for best camera placement: How do I place my Arlo camera?

dear friends

after trying for a week and complaint for a week on the discuss forum and netgear web site

come in conclusion:

this device is not meant to use FROM inside TO outside

not pointing to the glass

i had finally removed the camera above the door frame shooting From

inside thru the glass to my front door TO outside and mounted under the soffit

it's way better

i will keep trying and see if the motion detection is ok since i put outside

(because i had been trying for a week from inside)

worst case i will just refund it
