Why does arlo download video clips in one file name format from its website and another file name format from the android app? From the website it is with the Epoch code only. From the android it includes the camera code, date, time, and Epoch code. They are both awkward.

1. No need for camera ID - it should be obvious from the clip.

2. Most useful file name would be "year-month-day-time".

3. Anyone have a program that can read in these two file naming conventions and change them to the useful one???

Enough said and thank you.

I use a Python script that downloads videos and renames them into a more normal fashion:

You could modify the script to whatever you like.  If you'd like the script, just PM me your email address.

Sounds good for the downloads with the convention camera-date-time-Epoch code. So I would appreciate your code.

And I still have the issue that when I download from my PC the convention is Epoch code only.

Thank you for your input and python code - very generous!

I am still bewildered why they do two different conventions.

As mentioned in PM, it appears that the app and web do the naming in the download process.  2 different programmers?
