I receive several alerts during the day when no one is present so I'm assuming it has to do with the photo sensor and temperature change. Is there a way to minimize this?

Not temperature change but sun angle. Even though I have one of my cameras under an eave, afternoon sun can play havoc with it, recording many nonevents. Angling down is the best option if you can (I can't) or play with sensitivity. The sun's IR is being reflected and that's what is setting it off. I'm hoping that as leaves grow some blockage of these reflections will help.
