I have found that scheduling cameras to come on at different times and days is a real headache because you cannot seem to overlap camera on times. However I found this method might help getting your head around this unnecessary headache!

First, make a scheduling plan of your on's and Off times for the week as shown. I will just explain Monday, hopefully you can see the method.

Name your cameras I’ve called them Drive,Garden and indoors. Yours may be different.

1. Create a new MODE. Call it "Monday 12AM-08:29AM, drive & garden cam active, Indoor cam inactive"

Complete walkthrough for "drive", ie record video, and save it.

Click the ">" on the far right to open up the mode you just created.

Now "+ add Rule"

Complete walkthrough for garden, ie record video, and save it.

Do the same again for "indoors" but this time select "do nothing"

2. Create another new MODE. Call it "Monday 08:30AM-12:59PM, all cameras active"

Complete walkthrough for "drive" ie record video, and save it.

Now "+ add Rule"

Complete walkthrough for "garden", ie record video, and save it.

Complete walkthrough for "indoors", ie record video, and save it.

3. Create the last new MODE. Call it "Monday 1:00PM-11:59PM, drive and garden cam active, Indoor cam inactive"

Complete walkthrough for "drive", ie record video, and save it.

Now "+ add Rule"

Complete walkthrough for "garden", ie record video, and save it.

Do the same again for "indoors", but select "do nothing"

4. Finally select "schedule >" to open up the week calendar, click anywhere inside  "Monday" edit schedule.

Select the first mode you created ie"Monday 12AM-08:29AM, drive & garden cam active, Indoor cam inactive" Enter the start and stop times and save it.

click "Monday again" edit schedule.

Select the second mode you created ie "Monday 08:30AM-12:59PM, all cameras active" Enter the start and stop times and save it.

Finally, select the last mode you created ie"Monday 1:00PM-11:59PM, drive and garden cam active, Indoor cam inactive"

Hopefully thats it, no time overlap and camera should work together as per the diagram. For the rest of the week if times are different do the same as above.

Maybe one day someone from Netgear will design a scheduler that is straight forward ie program each camera independently!

Nice to see a new user has gotten down the aspects of modes and rules...

Just a PS,

You can only run one mode at a time

Any camera NOT in the active mode will be off

and most common problem ... If schedule run thru midnight, it must be broken into two parts...

up to 1159 pm and then next day 12 midnight to xxx am

Yes thats a good point "Any camera NOT in the active mode will be off". (I didnt know that!).

In my sugestion I added the inactive camera and made it "do nothing" But I recently noticed  that it would still trigger the inactive one with not video, but would still send you a notification, which incidently you cannot turn off! How annoying. So yes, delete the inactive (do nothing) cameras from the a mode, unless of course you want trigger notifications.

1. Create a new mode. Name it Front & Rear porch active - 12AM - 7.59AM. Next select "front porch camera" (you've previously named) work through the settings i.e. sensitivity - record video etc. Then save this mode. Open this mode you've just created  "Front & Rear porch active - 12AM - 7.59AM"  click > (far right). Now select + "new rule".  Select the camera "back porch" work through the setting for this camera as above and save.

2. Create a new mode. Name it "Front porch active only - 8AM - 3.59PM".  Next select "front porch camera".  Work through the settings as above. save this mode.

3. Create a new mode. Name it "Front & rear porch active - 9PM - 11.59PM".  Next select "front porch camera".  Work through the settings as above. save this mode. Open the mode "Front & Rear porch active - 9PM - 11.59PM"  click > (far right). Now select + "new rule".  Select the camera "back porch" work through the setting for this camera and save.

4. Now go to the "schedule" > to open the calendar. Click anywhere in Monday column. At the top radio button, select "Front & Rear porch active - 12AM - 7.59AM" and tick Mon to Sun. Set Start time to 12AM Stop time 7.59AM. Save it.

5.Click below colour box in Monday column. At the top radio button, select "Front porch active only - 8AM - 3.59PM" and tick Mon to Sun. Set Start time to 8AM Stop time 3.59PM. Save it.

6. Finally, Click below coloured box in Monday column. At the top radio button, select "Front & Rear porch active - 9PM - 11.59PM" and tick Mon to Sun. Set Start time to 9PM Stop time 11.59PM. Save it.

A diagram may also help to visualise a schedule before programming it. Hope this helps.
