Since the camera senses better for side to side movement, I decide to point the cameras sideway. Now the landscape view display doesn't look so good. Would it be possible to provide portrait view display too?

sounds like you should put in a request here ;  https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/arlo-idea-exchange

BTW, any basic vid edit prgm should be alble to rotate the view

Video editition software?  These camera are used for security purpose.  Why would I use a video editing software to view it?  LOL.

dday408,

It is true that the camera is better at picking up side to side motion. Forgive me if I have misunderstood but putting the camera physically on it's side will not positively affect motion sensitivity.  The camera will pick up side to side motion equally whether it is vertical or horizontal motion across its field of view.

I see that you have already taken TomMac's advice and posted your portrait view idea in the Arlo Idea Exchange.

Thank you!

Was just trying to offer a better way to view the video for those you wanted to keep since it's not an option in the current software. The fact that you rotate the view of a copied video in an edit prgm does not change the fact you still have the original video for evidence ( if thats what you intended ). Also a copy run thru an edit prgm is one of the best ways to 1) pull separate fames/shots 2) allow you to add brightness/contrast to same if needed for a non perfect picture... this doesn't in any way effect the original evidence.

As JamesC mentioned... a few have tested rotation of the camera for a narrow walk way... thinking the PIR may be more sensitive side to side so rotate puts it in a vertical plane... don't believe any of the testing prove any better results.
