I've got my arlo attached to my metal door, then a glass storm door is between that and the outside.  It doesn't recognize any motion of my cats as they walk right by it, which kind of defeats the purpose of it, as I'm watching for racoons getting into their food.  I've set the motion for 100% also.   Is the IR the only thing that's recognizing motion with these cameras, or maybe is there an update I need? thanks!

Basically, no IR detection is going to work through glass (reflection and filtering of the IR).  You'll need to mount the camera outdoors.

Yes, J is right.. the IR sense doesn't work thru glass....

But remember the cameras are wireless and waterproof... you can mount them outside to see the raccoons... and prob closer to 85% sense is all you'll need.( if not less).

I find they work excellent for my cat at about a 2ft mount height... so don't mount to high is you want low creatures

There are reasons for installing the cameras indoors. In my case, theft, low winter temperatures (down to a -22°F) and wireless coverage are my main concerns.

However, nice to get an answer to this.
