Max distance is about 20 ft for people with the Arlo. You can adjust the sense level higher. Default is about 80%, but most my cams run about 90-94%.

Adjustment is in the MODE, under camera then edit, drop to motion is detected and edit that , save on way out

Sorry for being a bit thick - do I lower the motion sensitivity to shorten the distance ?
