Motion detection won't turn back on. Running man icon turns gray once preview is turned on.

Okay, this is driving me insane. This problem started after I began experimenting with turning motion detection off. I have noticed that whenever I turn it off and turn it back on, the running man icon will suggest that motion detection has been reactivated---but it's a lie.

Turning motion detection on will only temporarily turn the icon green; once I hit camera preview, the icon will immediately turn gray, confirming that motion detection was never turned on to begin with.

I was able to fix this last time by restarting my base station, but it's not working now. I'm at a loss as to why a core function of the camera can't work right.

If it's just the display that isn't in sync, it sounds like the app or web browser isn't updating properly.
