Do these cameras allow you to select one or more "zones" for motion detecting? Almost every other camera allows you to exclude areas in the visual frame, like a street or sidewalk, as to not alert when there is an "event" or movement in that zone.

no. the d-link camera does.....so i got rid of it. the only problem with arlo is the email.....sometimes it takes 20 minutes to start working. THE REAL INADEQUACY IS THE NOTIFICATION DOES NOT HAVE AN AUDIBLE CONTINUOUS ALARM ON YOUR CELL PHONE. I WANT TO AWAKENED IF I AM SLEEPING IN A HOTEL the solution is a 3rd party app frpm google or apple..
