Hi

I'm really struggling with the "modes and rules". I used a lot of software and don't understand why Netgear have made this so complicated.

All I require is an on and off for both cameras when my wife leaves home and for nightime. I've spent time on this and still can't work it out.

Is there anyone who has written a simple explanation of how it works?

Thanks

Rules say WHAT THE CAM DOES  ie; record how long, sensitivity , sense on which cam etc...

Modes use the rules to make them active or not

All modes will have every camera listed... main diff is a GREEN check mark at end of camera line( ON , active) or BLACK (off. non active )

You can only have one mode active at a time , the new one will over write the older.

Also you should have two default MODES... ALL cams On, ALL cams Off ( or similar named )

 older thread;

read this; https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/What-are-Modes-amp-how-do-I-use-them/ta-p/32

Then go and MODES/ EDIT ( pencil ) the two MODES...ALL ON will have ALL GREEN Check marks ant end of each camera / ALL OFF they will be GRAY.

remember to save as you exit

If you deleted the modes, then you have to create one first.. go to SETTINGS/MODES hit the "+" sign to add one, call it ALL CAMS ON ( or whatever)

and like above, make sure the camera rules have a GREEN check at the line end to show they are active.
