Is there a way to disable the notifications for any set period of time?

My phone battery is being drained by the constant notifications.  Is there a way to disable the notifications for any set period of time?  For instance, I really want to know if someone is lurking around while I'm away but don't really care to receive notifications when my kids and neighborhood kids are playing out in front, setting off the motion detector.  It should be noted that I've disabled the Push and Email notifications.

TIA

You could make up a new custom Mode ... In the new Mode, you would have the alerts active.

Use this mode when away.
