you probably can do some mod of the camera and make the arlo camera powered by external power. I assume you are going to put the camera outdoor. if not, alro Q is your alternative.

Someone has modded his Arlo wireless camera to get it powered by an external power source: How to hardwire power using the USB port.
$34 for four batteries is a steep price. You can get these for under $2 a piece online. Check this post: Chart -- Yearly/Monthly Cost of Batteries for 1-4 Cameras.
Also, rechargeables are a viable option. Check this thread: Rechargeable batteries for use with Arlo cameras. I recently got Nitecores for ~$6 a piece and a Nitecore D4 charger for $32.
