Do arlo wireless cameras only record if there is a motion detection?

I have a silly question, but I need To verify. The arlo wireless cameras only record if There is a motion detection, right?

No....

The Arlo camera can be set to record after seeing motion via the PIR detector OR  record can be manually started from the apps/pc

No... the Arlo cameras will not do 24/7 recording as Batteries do have a finite life.

But, Motion record can be set for a max of 2 mins per trigger event and Manual record will go for about 30 min ( if it hasn't changed ) till auto shut down to preserve batteries . Mind that heavy recording will equal short life of batteries.

I have one but it only records when there is NO MOTION.  Does no detect people coming to or leaving my front door.  It is  POS. Worst purchase I ever made.  What a waste of my SSA money. Netgear should be ashamed of ripping off Sr Citizens.

Have u contacted support re your problem.... Also there is the possibly that something is defective
