IS THERE GOING TO BE AN UPDATE IN THE DETECTION ZONE ALGORITHM FOR MOVEMENT?, INSTEAD OF TAKING ALL THE CAMERA VIEW FOR MOVEMENT DETECTION, TO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE DETECTION ZONES (AT LEAST 2) THAT CAN BE CHANGED IN SIZE AND POSITION.

I PURCHASED 4 CAMERAS BUT USING 3 FOR THE MEANWHILE. RESOLUTION IS GOOD AND NIGHT VISION IS GOOD TOO FOR THE INTENDED DISTANCE DETECTION. BUT FOR DETECTION IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT HAS THAT OPTION.

SEEING THIS OPTION FROM OTHER COMPETITORS SEEMS INTERESTING AND FLEXIBLE FOR MOTION DETECTION.

ALSO I EXPERIENCE A LAG WHEN TRYING TO SEE LIVE MODE OF ANY CAMERA AT DESKTOP OR LAPTOP PC. TIME FOR LOAD LIVE VIEW IS ENDLESS, BUT WHEN USING MOBILE OR TABLET SHOWS QUICKLY. JUST TO ADD, I USE THE SAME INTERNET CONNECTION FOR ALL DEVICES AND DOUBT IT WOULD BE THE INTERNET, ALSO TRIED WIRELESS FOR ALL EQUIPMENTS AND STILL HAVE SAME ISSUE.

REGARDS.

STOP SHOUTING>  Thank you.  🙂

There's no way to set up detection zones on the wireless cameras.  I don't know about other brands but perhaps they don't use the same technology.  The new Arlo Q camera does allow for detection zones perhaps because it uses a different method (pixel-based) for motion detection while the wireless cameras use IR detection - no way to "zone" them without multiple detectors.

Sorry for the capitalized letters, did not see that when typing.

Thanks for the update regarding the zone options. Was hoping it may add some sort of upgrade on the long run (Like a trip zone or something, maybe a trip line, etc.).

Do you know for the lag in live mode when using laptop or desktop pc? I am still having issues with that. Can not relly always to see live view at mobile only. What can i check or do to fix or speed up the load process?

Regards.

Lag is inherent in the wireless devices since they have to detect motion, enable the camera and connect with the server, start recording and whatever else has to go on.  The best you'll see is around a 2 second lag which may be fine if the motion is slow enough or could miss the action if it's fast.  Also, the direction of motion to be detected is important.  Motion across the FOV, especially at the edges, will be detected much better than motion directly to/from the camera.  Position is important and may take significant trial and error to get it right.  If you're limited in where you can even put the camera, you may be SOL. A second camera that detects motion better but has a worse view can be used to trigger the other camera.  Depends on what your situation is and how you can best take advantage of various possibilities.
