Do you sell extra standard camera mounts?

I believe I saw they were about to in a few months, but for $26 each...

Here's what I just purchased from Amazon (and have now).  These are totally SWEET, well-built, very functional, and best of all, are 2 for about $14!!  Somebody else earlier recommended them here on this website.

I just ordered three mounts from Amazon that look awfully close to the Arlo outside mount, only in black. Cost: $16.89 shipped for all three. Will report back when I receive them.

I pre-ordered the Arlo mount (http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Security-Adjustable-Outdoor-VMA1000-10000S/dp/B00TTLGHSK) from Amazon on 3/21/15 with a promise for it to ship on 4/1/15. I bought this to properly mount my Arlo camera outside. The little magnetic thing that came with the Arlo system isn't secure and doesn't have enough range of motion.

Well, 4/1/15 came yesterday and Amazon, which is the only place to buy this mount, changed my shipping estimation from "guaranteed to arrive on 4/3/15" to "will ship in 1 to 3 months" from now. I'm not waiting that long.

So, I spoke to Amazon and they blamed Arlo/Netgear for not shipping the product to them ("back-ordered"). Then I spoke to Netgear and they blamed Amazon.

Today I cancelled my Amazon purchase of this mount and instead bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IDBXBO (as also recommended above). It's highly rated, works with the Arlo cameras (you can see pictures there), comes with two mounts (instead of one) and it's half the price at only $14 (instead of $27 from Arlo).

Here's a tip for the future: When a mistake is made, make up for it with honest customer service the first time -- not "eventually honest" customer service. The ball was really dropped on this by either Arlo/Netgear or Amazon, but I've been really happy with the Arlo camera system itself.

Update: Amazon.com wouldn't let me post this story here: http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Security-Adjustable-Outdoor-VMA1000-10000S/dp/B00TTLGHSK

Update: Netgear finally just responded to me at https://twitter.com/NETGEARhelp/status/583739978062127104 saying they confirmed shipping these to Amazon a week ago, but it "may still be going through the Amazon fulfillment process". Amazon still shows "1 to 3 months," so it seems obvious that http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IDBXBO is a much better option because you can get two mounts instead of one, it's half the price, it works with the Arlo cameras and you can get it in only a few days.

What kept you from ordering the near identical mount (except for material) from Neewer I had come across above your post for even less? I have since given a brief account in my post Alternative outside mount very similar to original?

I chose the VideoSecu mount because it's professional-grade solid metal at half the cost of the Arlo mount. But the other purpose of my post was to shed light on the fact that the Arlo mount itself is not being handled properly by Arlo/Netgear and/or Amazon.

These look like nice inexpensive mounts... can you tell us if it is difficult (or a pain) to attach the Arlo camera onto the mount (especially if high up, requiring a ladder)?  Do you have to screw the camera round and round onto the mount, or does it have a release switch or something?

thanks

I just received my 2 VideoSecu (Model MCB1W) white mounts.

FYI- they are not white.  They are more "creme" colored, and do not match the white Arlo, but this didn't bother me.

The one thing that does bother me a little, is the locking mechanism of the swivel-ball.  It is difficult to "fine tune" the position well, and the swivel-ball doesn't feel "secure" when I tighten the screw, even when doing it very tightly.

Luckily I had a T10 screwdriver that could tighten this a bit, but still feels unsecure unfortunately.

I guess you get what you pay for.
