Motion detection is a bit trial and error to get the sensitivity set properly. I just moved a camera to pick up dogs next door but It seems like a train in the upper corner, barely visible, may be setting off the camera when set to 100%. Generally, you could assume about 10 meters or so but it depends on where the movement is (the edges of the field of view seem to be more sensitive) and the direction of motion where moving across the field of view is more effective.
You can't set alarm hours; they're either on or off. You may be able to use other apps to help control when notifications are heard, depending on what type of device and what OS you're using. For instance, on my Nexus 6 (or any other Android device using Lollipop), there's a phone setting under Sounds called Interruptions where I can disable sounds at nighttime. There are also other apps, such as Audio Guru, that allow you to set a sounds schedule. No idea about iOS.
